Hello, readers! We’re Nachiket and Ankita, design students at IIT Bombay, and we recently embarked on a fascinating academic project. Our challenge? To explore whether AI can effectively assist an 18-year-old with no prior business experience in setting up a startup from scratch. The goal was to create a unique blend of apparel that resonated with the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and appealed to a modern audience. ChatGPT, played the role of a strategic advisor and creative consultant, leveraging AI tools like DALL·E for visual asset creation, Uizard for interface design, and Canva for crafting marketing materials. This collaboration was designed to harness the power of AI while being steered by human creativity and business acumen.

The Conceptual Phase: We began with the basics: determining the type of business. Through discussions augmented by AI insights from ChatGPT, we settled on a custom t-shirt business, blending traditional and mythological themes with modern design.

Market Research: Understanding the market was crucial. We simulated an 18-year-old conducting market research, utilizing AI tools to analyze data. This helped us grasp potential customer preferences, guiding our hypothetical product and pricing strategy.

AI tools offered initial suggestions for the brand name and tagline, which we refined to capture the essence of our envisioned business. We then delved into product specifics, discussing materials and production methods, with AI providing foundational ideas and cost estimates.
